Done with Phase One!

So, Devin's program has three, three week phases. There's an assessment at the end of each phase which determines if he can move on to the next phase. I'm happy to report that he's finished and passed phase one and we're a third of the way done with DBC!! I'm seriously so proud of this guy. He's putting in crazy long days and working so hard! And I'm proud of myself that no tears have been shed for almost three weeks as well!

Well, really I'm not proud of myself. I'm thankful for God's faithfulness because it has been SO evident during this time. But I can still be proud of my husband, right?

Week three was an interesting one. We left Chicago, went to my parents for a day, and then headed to my brother's house for a few days to stay with his four kids. And now, on this sunny Friday, we're back in our cozy little home and very happy about that!

A few glimpses from our week...

The four darlings I had the pleasure of overseeing. Overseeing is a better word than babysitting because they are all pretty responsible and self-sufficient. It was fun to get a look into their everyday life. The job would have been a lot easier without Henrik, that's for sure. I don't think I'll be signing up for five kids anytime soon.

Henrik always liked to see what Taye was up to and Taye always liked to find some way to entertain Henrik. Not a bad setup, especially if Henrik would separate from his mother for longer than 10 minutes.

My SIL had some fun things on hand for me. She knows me well!

And, I just thought this was a really cute picture of Henrik...

And now? Devin is coming home for a quick 1.5 days this weekend! I am thrilled! If we didn't see each other this weekend, it would have been a solid month before seeing each other next, so I'm quite happy to move that month down to three weeks (Henrik and I are doing some traveling, hence the not seeing Devin).

We plan on mostly hiding out at home and just enjoying remembering what life used to be like. :)
