like a vacation

so i took monday and tuesday off work to be HOME. i had been home all weekend with dad, and then mom got back from visiting betsy late monday night. i surprised her at the airport (we had talked earlier on the phone...poor mom was telling me all about what dad was up to and his plan to pick her up and asking if it was hard for me to go back to leo...little did she know i was still at home, next to dad who was laughing).

tuesday was one of the best days i've had in months...beautiful weather, taking a walk with mom, visiting grandma g., cooking lots of amazing food with mom, and lettuce wraps and french silk pie for dinner (2 of my favorite foods). it really felt like a vacation, even if i was in f-ville.

and now...just a few short days at work and later today i'm off again for a weekend trip with none other than my friend leah. i'm going to try to remember my camera because i never take photos anymore. i do want to share a few of mom's doha pictures though...

betsy took mom to a camel market. she made friends quite easily with a nice sudanese man. betsy was a bit concerned about all these men wanting to take pictures and put their arms around her mother. (that's not really an acceptable thing to do there).

mom and clive relaxing by the pool that is in betsy's compound.

a basket and honey shop in doha. all of mom's pictures made me very lonesome for betsy, anxious to see and hold clive, and very much interested in visiting qatar!

how cute is she?! and how amazing do all those scarves look...
