Timing

Over the last couple years God has taught me a lot about timing. Just because something is right, doesn't mean it's the right time for it. "God's timing is not our timing" is such a cliche´ Christian phrase, but it's so, so true.

I'm finally reading Jesus Calling thanks to swiping someone else's gift at a Christmas grab bag. Yesterday's message in it explained this whole timing thing in a perfect way I thought...

"Much, much stress results from your wanting to make things happen before their times have come. One of the main ways I assert my sovereignty is in the timing of events."

I love that, tying God's timing to his sovereignty.
