Four Days

Work had been crazy busy for a few weeks and I was so ready for a break. I took Friday off before Memorial Day Weekend and with Monday off as well, I had four whole days to not think about work and enjoy my boys and some light traveling.

First stop was to meet my new niece, Fiona Katherine. I seriously couldn't restrain myself from screaming when my brother-in-law sent out the text, "the princess is here". Princess meant girl, right?! My sister Sara was having her fourth child, and already had 3 boys. This was one of those times I reminded why it's so fun when people don't find out the gender of their baby!

Precious Fiona. Don't you just love her name?! I told Sara if she hadn't used it, I might have stolen it for if we ever have a girl. But I'm so glad she got to use it. :)

Henrik enjoyed meeting cousin Fiona and being outside in his new hat. He may not have loved it when I went to get him out of bed, already holding Fiona, and tried to juggle both of them.

The boy also experienced a swing for the first time...he was a bit apprehensive when uncle Nate put him in there, but ended up loving it.

Saturday we headed to a downtown farmer's market just a few minutes from our house. I was reminded why living in the city is fun and why summer is so great. We scored some really good popcorn, a basil plant, Utopian coffee, and some fun ice cream from a local couple who started an ice cream delivery business called The Ginger Kitchen.

We drove up north to Devin's parent's lake cottage tasting the Chocolate Cayenne ice cream. The description was spot on. Really, really good flavor.

About 20 minutes from the cottage is a winery we like. They make a great dry rose´which we enjoyed a glass of while Henrik drank his milk.

Four W boys...
The weekend ended on a slightly rough note when we realized the  plug-in to my breast pump was left at the lake, which resulted in Devin spending way too long driving all over town only to realize we would just need to order the part anyway and making my life interesting until tomorrow afternoon when it gets here...thankfully today is my day to work from home. But the weekend really was such a great kick off to summer! I'm so thankful for warmer temperatures and sunshine and not being pregnant this summer.

So glad you had such a relaxing and perfect weekend. And we loved having you here on Friday, though little Fiona looks like a bit of a poor thing in that first pic with her twisted hat!

Ice cream delivery, sounds like a pretty amazing idea!! You'll have to let me know H's stats. :)
