Pittsburg & Parents

Last weekend we ventured to Pittsburg for Devin's cousin's wedding. They live in New York, her family is from Jersey, and his family is from Indiana/Illinois so they picked a wedding destination that was right in the middle. Makes sense, right?

We left early Saturday morning to get to Pittsburg for a late lunch at the famous Primanti Bros. Basically sandwiches with fries and coleslaw on them. You know, everything in one bite. Devin thoroughly enjoyed his. I was unimpressed. I did enjoy my Yuengling though.

Henrik Sebastian was a pro traveler. The boy didn't cry once there or back. That's 10+ solid hours of stress-free traveling. But he wasn't a huge fan of the reception. Loud music, loud people...not his thing. It wasn't awful, but I'll be glad that from now on he'll be old enough to just leave home so Devin and I can enjoy things like this a little more. Not that I could have gotten Devin on the dance floor anyway...

Oh but Huck did look pretty adorable in his wedding outfit.

The happy couple. Her dress was amazing. Wish you could see more if it, but this is the best I have.

Husband.

The next day after we got back from Pittsburg, my parents came into town. My dad had a work conference just 5 minutes from our house so they stayed with us for a couple nights. It was really fun to have them. And, of course, my house was 10 times cleaner when they left than when they came. Not to mention in the two days they were there, two different painting projects were completed, all my laundry was done, and various other things. My mom...she's crazy...like super woman. I'm serious, that woman has way more energy than I do.

My dad with Henrik.

One of the nights mom and dad were here, we ate out and then mom and I took Henrik home while dad and Dev went to Best Buy to scope out some new technology for my dad. I totally spaced that Devin had the house key, so we sat in my driveway in the pouring rain just waiting on them for about 40 minutes. Henrik hadn't slept in a long time and I was expecting him to scream a lot but he didn't. Instead, he did this...
(this is mainly for the sake of aunts/grandmas/great-grandmas, I know videos of other people's kids are boring!)

You couldn't get me to come out on the dance floor... and I couldn't keep you under control out there!

Oh my word. Emily, he is seriously amazing! I cannot believe the trip went that smoothly...I'd like to say it was the prayer but it could also be that you just have an extremely satisfied baby on your hands. Thank the Lord! Would have loved to see more of her dress too - don't know her but happy for Brett!
