Quest for creative snacking

These days, despite eating breakfast, my stomach is growling by 10:30. Obviously, I never quite want to dig into my lunch food that early in the day. So, here's been my favorite mid-morning snack of late...

About a half cup of this...

Then a small spoonful of this...

And a drizzle of this...

Stir well.

Have any other mid-morning snack ideas that avoid carbs?

If you like sushi...seaweed crispy strips in the snack isle from Trader Joe's (I like wasabi instead of plain) with smoked salmon and a bit of light cream cheese inside. You can add other stuff too of course, but that combo is easy. Some studies are showing that lots of protein during pregnancy is a good thing for a lot of reasons, so your yogurt choices it great. ;) The salmon will fill in those omega 3s I'm sure you've heard about from various sources. =) I also love melba toasted crackers with light laughing cow cheeses. That has carbs but it multi-grain and Yumo. Happy snacking

An - good idea! I have some of those seaweed crisps and made little sushi rolls the other day, but with rice.
Snacks are hard I think.. I usually just go straight for the lunch food. :) If I do snack I'm usually at work and my snack involves string cheese or the jar of peanut butter at my desk with either a banana or pretzels. your yogurt does look good.
I find that if I eat eggs for breakfast it helps hold me over to lunch a little better, but maybe nothing helps when you're preggo :)

I'm with Sarah and Leah! I love almonds...and my favorite are Emerald brand cocoa roast almonds...dark chocolate flavor. They are AMAZING. We don't buy them much, but they are my favorite by far!!

i made my own healthy trail mix & ate lots when I was preggo....make yours heavy on the seeds/nuts for healthy omega 3's and a stay-ful feelign.

I also like Garden of Eatin organic blue corn chips (on sale at meijer a lot) in the micro for 20sec with cheese and a couple spoonfuls of beans sprinkled over them. I started craving beans when i was pregnant, and my craving never went away, so this is my go to snack morning noon & night ( :

I'm always a such for granola bars, but that doesn't really help you out in your low-carb quest. :) I also love carrots & hummus...mmm. :)

Your yogurt combo looks enticing--I'll have to try it!
