A Valentine Eve

I honestly have never met a guy who is more well-rounded than Devin. He is a great writer, has very good English, grammar, and communication skills. He's an avid reader, he is neat (meaning, not a slob) he plays hockey on a weekly basis (and is good), he works out, he cooks (yay!), he's a really good drummer and has played with many worship bands and regular bands. He's a great dresser (I always said I did not want to have to dress my husband - I got my wish), he has strong opinions but is never obnoxious or forceful about them, and is very much his own person. He likes to fish (which of course thrilled my father). He can do anything on an iPhone or Mac and has been involved in app development. And, when it comes to ideas on how to spend time, he's super creative. I always love his ideas. And Valentine's Day was no exception... (this all sounds really braggy, but it's okay since it's not about myself, right?)

On the 14th, I came home to a nicely dressed boy and a table full of flowers, a lovely card, and all the ingredients and supplies for our favorite meal...martinis and sushi!

Fanning and spreading the special sticky rice.

Freshly cut ingredients.

Soy sauce, wasabi, chopsticks, and seaweed wraps.

Ready to roll...

First sushi attempt ever!

I'd say it was a success!

Love this boy - what a great night!
Oh - and don't worry mom - I told Devin not to 'get the big head' after reading this. :)

What a fun night! And sorry for the creepy "I want to come!" comment on Instagram...being the single gal that I am, I'd forgotten that this was Valentine's Day. Or quite possibly, I'm just weird like that. ;) Anyway, it looks awesome!!

Okay if you're making sushi rolls, I am SO there! I am duly impressed that you guys attempted this and I think Devin is one of the most multi-faceted, multi-talented people I know! No wonder it was a great VDay!
