rite of summer

luke furrer (friday night, july 4): "ya know, there's nothing better than boating early on a sunday morning as the sun comes up and steam rises off of the glassy lake, i haven't even taken the boat out yet this summer" (or something along those lines)
emily: "well, let's do it!"
and we did...
16 hours ago (6 a.m.) we arrived at dodge camp to launch the furrer boat into the water. turns out it's a little darker at this time of day than one might think. leah's coffee was finally kicking in after her zombie-like state on the way over. crissy was just happy to be alive after her night of terror.
about a half hour later, luke getting ready to start our skiing bout around freeman. sun coming out to start a beautiful sunday.

what a great day! i'm tired. less than 3 hours of sleep, a couple hours of boating, and then a full day at church. i can't believe it was just this morning that we were out on the lake...it seems more like yesterday or even two days ago. this was the grand finale of my 4th of july weekend. and what a great weekend it was! my friends rock! not to mention pretty great cousins who take me and my friends boating!

despite the severe exhaustion, it was worth it. sometimes you just have to let go of a little sleep, plunge into a surprisingly warm lake freeman at 6:30 a.m. and ski through the treacherous, stump filled waters
fearlessly braving the reminiscent sideline of tea tree shampoo.

All I have to say at the moment is MUY MUY MUUUUUUUUUUUUUY CONSADA!! As you said, though, sometimes it's just worth it, and this was one of those times. (although I do think I'd have preferred to sleep a bit more than I did in that 2:30-5:00 time slot) :)

Have a super-d-duper week and fun on your vacation, too!
