stuff (literally)

Last night some of us girls went ice skating (no, unfortunately we didn't hit up Great Skates) and my friend Flora went with us. She's here on a year exchange progam from Hong Kong. She's such a sweet girl to be around. And ironically is almost 4 years older than me. :)

So my engaged roommate moved out. Which means a few things... I no longer have anyone to talk to laying in bed at night when I'm just not tired or I have something on my mind I need to hash out, I no longer have to hear an alarm clock go off and be snoozed for several times (I am NOT a 'snoozer'), and I now have a whole closet to myself. So this morning I've been rearranging my room and moving clothes. I moved my shirts over to Natalie's former side of the closet and my side is left with dresses, pants, and skirts. So why am I telling you this? Well, I am very embarrassed to admit that the closet still looks rather full even though over half of the items in there left along with Natalie. I have SO MUCH STUFF! Seriously, I could wear a different outfit to church every Sunday for the next year if I wanted to. There are girls my age in other countries who have one outfit to wear, if that. Not that I'm any different than other college girls in the U.S. (althought I'm sure my siblings would love to use this for another reason why "Emily is so spoiled"). It's just the way our society is. So anyways, I have decided I will NOT buy any more clothes this winter or spring. One exception: a swimsuit for spring break (I'm in need of something a bit more modest). So here's yet another thing I'm adding to the list of things I'm 'not doing' at the moment.

Good for you! I highly applaud anyone who is willing to "go without" simply because we NEVER go without. Then again, that's coming from the cheap, frugal sister. Love ya! Molly

I witnessed the closet personally and have to say it was fu-ull. But in a delightfully good way with hundreds of eye-catching combinations. This coming from your not-so-cheap-nor-frugal sister. ;)
