Do And Do Not

A couple of months ago I blogged about being a bit overwhelmed and feeling like I needed to decide what things I was and wasn't going to do in this season of life. Here's what I came up with...

Oh, wait, disclaimer:

-These are not exhaustive lists.
-This is not my way of saying that certain things are better than others, these are simply just things I'm choosing not to make time for or things I want/need to make time for right now. (Aka I'm not saying this is what your list should look like. :)
-Some of the things on my "don't" list, I'd actually like to do someday but just can't right now.

I'm still pondering, but I think I'm off to a good start at least establishing priorities...

I was sad about having to add gardening to the "don't" list. In theory, I would love to have a garden and do all my own landscaping and work outside a lot...but it's just not something that can be a reality working full-time and having an infant. Someday! Oh and wearing makeup may sound weird...but let's face it, sometimes taking 5 minutes to apply some basic makeup can seem too hard...but I prefer not to be horrified looking in the mirror all day. :)

haha "ain't nobody got time for dat!" made my day. ;) I never thought I had time to crochet and knit until I started homeschooling first grade and up. they can do the work without my help...for 10 min segments and then they have a question. Not enough time to get up...not needed enough to just sit there doing nothing. And I can't read a novel with interruptions like that. Drives me nutty. Wala...new hobby. ;)

happy day to you! :)

Ann if I had your crochet skills I might change my mind on this one! :)

I like your lists. Seem pretty realistic!! I did smile on the mom's groups. I am definitely the same way with those NOW. Use to not be when I lived in Tennessee, BUT all for good reason. In TN, I didn't know a single soul, my kids weren't in school and I needed some place to meet mothers with kiddos to get connected and have s somewhat social life:). Now that I am home and have many friends handy, mom's groups are NOT for me these days. :)

Oh this is such a great post. Your "Things I DON'T do" is amazingly similar to one I could write. haha!

And I'm glad to see you are keeping blogging on your list. Sometimes I wonder if blogging will soon be a thing of the past because of FB and all the other short & sweet social media.

Thanks for the smile!

I love this idea. Setting priorities is so important! I may have to make lists like this myself...

I have tentative Do and Don't Do lists on my computer right now but found myself writing lots of parentheses or added phrases to the Don't Do list. I realized I was making excuses for myself or trying to prove that I do meaningful things, just not that specific thing. So I am going through it and trying to just make the Don't Do statement without any "But I do make a priority for..." blah blah blah. I'm proud of you for publishing yours (even with the disclaimer!) - that takes guts!
