Happy Anniversary to us.

I can say with certainty that neither of us pictured spending our first anniversary as sleep deprived parents of a newborn. As if anyone would picture that for their one year... Our plan would definitely have looked more like celebrating on a beach somewhere just the two of us. Obviously God had other plans (enter Huck)...

But as I was lamenting this, Devin reminded me that everything has been easy for us - since we met, really. Dating started and progressed easily and naturally (and quickly!). Engagement was fun. And our first year of marriage, with the exception of the last 2 weeks, followed the same trend, fun and easy. I suppose it was time for us to have to deal with something substantial.

I love that from the second we started dating, not once have I questioned or doubted whether we should be together. Year one of marriage truly exceeded my expectations in every way possible.

Just the other day I was talking with one of Devin's friends and informed him I had a bit of a dark side before I married Dev. And that got me thinking about all the ways Devin has positively impacted my life. God knew exactly what I needed in a husband and provided Dev at the perfect time. He is so good for me!

So - here's to a what was a wonderful first year of marriage and to taking a fun second anniversary trip sans Henrik Sebastian. :)

Anniversary brunch that the Pops slept through, which was nice, but I'd rather he sleep at night...

heeehee...there is no satisfaction when they sleep during the day. When Noah was sleeping, I would wonder if I should wake him up so he would sleep at night and when he was awake I would wish he would just sleep:D

Happy Anniversary. :) You guys have gotten a lot done in a year. ;) And when/if you fly away for your two year, you will not believe how much more relaxing it is if you are used to caring for a little one 24/7. It's kind of it's own little ironic twist. :)

Happy anniversary!

I really think kids help husbands and wives love each other so much more completely...though maybe it doesn't seem like it in the sleep-deprived moments.:)
