the 4th (of July that is)

we (mom, dad, and i) spent the weekend in cincinnati with sara and family for the holiday. sara is always such a great host and they live in a good area with lots of options of things to do. from what i've seen, i'm a fan of this city.

i only have photos from saturday evening down by the river. but we also attended a parade earlier that day, did home fireworks the night before...oh and sara took me to her weight class at the gym and my biceps are still trying to recover. seriously painful to stretch out my arms.

oh and graeter's ice cream, which is a local chain...amazing! i had the flavor above (no cone) and it was very very good!
and to top the weekend off, good bowel obstruction stories from our favorite surgeon, nate. :)

i like this picture because i feel like its such a great depiction of Sar's life...always a boy to cart around or take care of.

this photograph was strategically taken...dad, Sara, and Finn were mainly just pretending to pose so i could capture our shirtless friend. i could kick myself for not having my phone on video! this guy could be spotted from the other side of the bridge as he was crossing over from ohio to kentucky. his saunter very much resembled a catwalk (think exaggerated runway walk with a sultry expression). not to mention it was late evening (no need to go shirtless) and he was carrying a discman - yes a discman. remember those? a portable cd player which was apparently blasting some rockin' tunes (hence the hip-shaking walk). i personally imagined him to be speed walking along to "what is love, baby don't hurt me, don't hurt me, no more".

my first thought was that he was dared...getting paid by his buddies to cause a scene...but surveying him closer and seeing his age makes me think he was seriously just out for a brisk walk.

thanks sir, for making our evening on the levee more interesting.

Oh My Goodnes... Baby don't hurt me and small bowel obstruction mentioned in the same post makes it a great post. Wish I could have been there. I am missing Sar bad! Love, J

Ahh, that is a great city to go to. We use to visit that area as well when living in Cincinnati. I know what Sara deals with throughout those days with a handful of boys:). Im glad you enjoyed your 4th!! Funny story for sure with that "brisk walker"....
