teenage girls

for the past few months i've been spending most of my monday evenings with these crazy girls! another "older" girl and i have been leading a bible study for 10 teenage girls in grades 8, 9, & 10, going through Nancy Leigh DeMoss & Dannah Gresh's, Lies Young Women Believe.

last night was our christmas party and last time together before we break for the holidays. let me tell you, these girls have tons of energy and could spend hours running around playing these crazy games like ninja (which for the record is quite amusing to watch, not so much to play). it never ceases to amaze me that they never seem to get worn out. i'm not sure i was really this energetic at their age, but i know for sure i didn't have the heart for Jesus that these girls demonstrate. it is so great to see them seeking after truth and desiring to live for Christ. i also forgot how dramatic everything is when you're 14. :)

when i moved to leo i was really praying for an opportunity that would connect me with people here besides co-workers and also keep my focus on spiritual things. leading this Bible study has really been an answer to both of those prayers. i love developing relationships with these girls, as well as their parents. i'm so thankful for the opportunity and have to admit it usually brings amusement to my week in some form.

Okay, if that is really you in the first picture, that is QUITE the look on your face, Em. You look just as double-o c as the rest of them.

Aw what a great group of gals! Very cool opportunity--I bet you are such a good role model!

Oh, and I SO agree about all that teenage drama... I'm just really glad that we have both become really even-keeled and level headed now that we're in our 20s! Nothing can rustle our feathers anymore!

See you Friday maybe! Love ya! :)
