it happens every time. every time i walk in to the hospital room and pick up my new niece or nephew i fall in love. i marvel at God's creation and instantly feel a connection with a new family member.

it happened with kaitlin. it happened with brecken. it happened with avery, with bella, with marlee, with finley, with miles...

it happened a little differently this time. this time it all started a few months ago when i saw a picture. a picture of a sweet little boy at an orphanage in ethiopia. tonight, instead of a hospital, i walked into an airport. instead of a baby, a 2-year-old.

but it happened again. i saw a beautiful boy and immediately knew this boy belonged in our family. this is my new nephew...and he is precious!

kait and i on the way down to indy.

the kids waiting at the terminal

a very pregnant sara, a definitely not pregnant mom, and a early-pregnant betsy

the rather looong banner that the kids made for their new brother.

AND then...Taye Kevin Gutwein

taye was sound asleep as kevin and laura walked out...he stayed that way for the next hour through dinner and being jostled around.

beautiful boy

their family is now complete

grandma

big sister

he finally woke up as we were leaving the airport! as laura set him down in his car seat he opened his big, beautiful eyes...

as he looked around to a car with lots of people peering in and a crazy red-headed bella staring him in the face...he got a huge smile and started clapping. a moment that will forever be etched in my mind!

God's faithfulness was displayed in a couple different ways tonight...

Ron and I felt very fortunate and blessed to be able to witness the Taye's homecoming - one of the most emotional events I have experienced in a long time. Your photos are great - much better than the ones Ron took from his phone! Taye is a beautiful, precious child and to witness Kaitlin, Brecken and Bella's love for him was an unbelievable sight. Lova all of you!
