gift cards?
not long ago someone commented that they didn't want to get someone a gift card because it was "impersonal". they wanted to get an item for this person that they knew they would like because it would mean more. so i'd be interested to see what you think...

now strictly for the purpose of relieving all of you who may be shifting uncomfortably in your seats due to the fact that you gave me a gift card in the past couple months...take heart!
i love gift cards!
well, truth be told, i love any gift really. rarely do i return a gift, unless it is something that doesn't fit or i already have. otherwise, i almost always put my gifts to good use.
but i don't think gift cards are impersonal. in my opinion, i feel there's nothing wrong with saying "here, go get what you want!", especially as a college student, i loooovveee receiving them, because then i can head to panera, starbucks, target, greyhouse, olive garden...and not spend money! aka i can enjoy the simple, but great things of life and not feel guilty for not just staying home and making my own pot of coffee.
anyways...random...but just thought i should know if there's some radical group of gift card haters walking around to beware of...? no discrimination if you do, promise!

I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE getting gift cards as it allows me to get exactly what I want. Sometimes Im very specific in what I want, type or brand. I don't mind if others buy me gifts however I like when they give receipts as well cause I can be pretty picky:) On the flip side...I know my aunt does NOT give gift cards as she doesn't think its personal enough...so there are those out there that do not care for them:)

I know I'm obnoxious to give to - I completely admit it. My mom has long ago learned to give me a receipt with my presents. : )
Although I told Ryan I think what I really love about the gift cards is what they represent - that I CAN go out and buy something if I want to (hey, when you're on a budget and expecting twins, it's the little things in life). : )
Just having them is fun much less getting to use them! ALthough what's funny is I don't love to give them to everyone. There are certain people that I insist on giving an actual gift to. I never mind if they take it back, but I have to give an actual present.
I know. I'm weird. And complicated.
I'm not a "card hater" but I'm afraid I'm going to loose them. I read some stats on how much money Best Buy makes a year on unclaimed gift cards and it made me kind of sick...I'd be the person that didn't redeam probably. Other than that, I love them at an impersonal extended family get together or something...sure beats lotion or a candle. =o)

definitely a "yay" for gift cards! i'd give a "yay" to any gift for that matter! :)
They're pretty much my favorite things. They're like free money only limited to a store, but still fun! I definitely love gift cards.
