Hutchinson Island, Day Nine

Sunrise on the beach.

Hutchinson Island, Day Eight

Lots of man o' wars on the beach today.

Handsome!

Calm river at dusk.

Hutchinson Island, Day Seven

Henny discovers his love for the beach.

Hutchinson Island, Day Six

Yep, Hutchinson Island is, in fact, an island.

In other news, before we get to the photos of the day, we are officially halfway through this whole husband gone nonsense! Cheers!

I got to go on a walk by myself this morning. It was divine. Just me, the sun, the beach, God, my crazy thoughts, and music.

Oh and we spotted a manatee in the river!

Hutchinson Island, Day Five

Loving the outdoor time!

Hutchinson Island, Day Four

Hutchinson Island, Day Three

I wasn't overly inspired today, I'll bring you the beach tomorrow. I promise.

Hutchinson Island, Day Two

Hutchinson Island, Day One

And this one isn't from today, but from our travels yesterday and I think it's a good one.

And We're Off

Around this time last year we took an eight-week-old Bastian boy to Florida. He looked like this:

Devin had this to say about our trip: A Week Away

And now, here we go again! Except this time, just me and the little boy, who is now a year and eight weeks. And poor Devin has to spend long, cold days in Chicago working hard while we bask in the sunshine at one of his favorite places. No one said this being apart stuff would be easy or fun. :)

Originally I didn't really want to go without him. It felt weird and wrong. But now, with these long days at home without him, I'm really glad that we have ten days away to break up these nine weeks.

So, here we go!

The Chicago '13 Stream

For Thanksgiving weekend Devin's parents once again took us all to Chicago. For those of you familiar with iPhone photo sharing streams...us iPhone users linked up and shared photos throughout the weekend. So here's my commentary on some of the Chicago '13 stream...

While Devin was photographing me chopping up Brussels at my parent's house before our Thanksgiving lunch...

The rest were doing a Starbucks stop and heading off to Chicago.

We were anticipating my mom's BBQ turkey.

As well as a chocolate/pecan/pretzel pie.

The rest of the crew had the traditional Potbelly lunch.

We drove through country roads to get to the interstate to Chicago...

The others arrived and shared views from their hotel rooms.

We couldn't leave the hotel until the Michigan/Ohio game ended. I hear it was an undesired result.

There was the obligatory Apple store stop.

There was the tea stop where others were moderately pleased with their honey tea but more interested in my bubble tea. What are those bubbles made of anyway?!

Devin the navigator took us on the scenic route for some photo ops.

We enjoyed our time sans Henrik, but talked about him a lot.

A great dinner at State & Lake.

Then onto the show. I personally would choose to see Wicked over last year's Les Mis. So fun!
After a night of sleep (some more than others) it was on to the traditional breakfast stop at Grand Lux...
Casey and Aaron's (non-alcoholic) fizzy breakfast drinks. Aaron might have been a bit embarrassed about getting one. Casey's little girl is due in early February!

Brady's Belini.

A poor quality picture of the quality parents that made the weekend happen. Thanks so much mom and dad W for a great time!

The remaining single W boy. :)

Another poor quality photo. We skipped the fruity drink and had coffee with our breakfast. :)
All the while our dear Henny was bonding with Grandma G and Aunt Mol.

Last stop: Dev Bootcamp. Devin's future home for 9 weeks. The name similarity is just a coincidence.
