Are the words I would use to describe the new album by Audrey Assad. I really love her, well her music, I can't say I know her. Though, I have walked right past her at a concert and was too shy to tell her how much I adore her songs. But I'm going to see her again in November, so maybe I'll get the courage.
These songs speak to my heart so much. The lyrics are deep and her voice is gorgeous. The songs aren't typical either, which I appreciate. Not the standard verse, chorus, verse, bridge, chorus. Devin said she can do this because she's not with a label so there isn't pressure to do things the traditional way. She did a kickstart project for this album, which means she raised the money for it before she produced it. I think that's cool.
So far, this is my favorite from the album...
From the love of my own comfort,
From a fear of having nothing,
From a life of wordly passions,
Deliver Me, O God.
