Thoughts from a Thursday evening

My view while I write: Devin catching a hockey game online with Huck, or Bunches, as I like to call him. And West Wing on the TV from our Amazon Prime account. Yeah, we're like 10 years late but we're really into West Wing. It's so good and fun to be able to watch it continuously seeing as it hasn't been on the air for quite some time so all the seasons are online.

I just bought my first Land's End swimsuit. Why didn't I do this years ago? So worth the money. The top is a bit snug in 'certain' areas...but I think eventually it'll be big in 'certain' areas or at least fit normally, so I think I'll keep it and wear it next week. Oh yes, I'll be on a beach next week...lest you think I planned to wear my new swimsuit around these parts.

Today I started my list of "things I don't do". My first item came to me when I was starting to doze off for an afternoon nap and I quickly jumped up to put it in my journal. I had the best nap today. Henrik was sleeping peacefully nearby in his swing all swaddled up. He loves a good swaddle and swing. He also loves to spit up all day long. Eating (well, drinking really) and spitting up, his favorite past times. But back to the nap - I was pretty tired since I had been up since 4:45 AM (Molly and Dad, how do you do it?). But the good news? Henrik Sebastian slept from 10:15 PM to almost 5 AM. It was so glorious that I didn't mind so much that he stayed up after his 5 AM feeding. And I had to get ready for work anyways.

I'm not back to work yet, just doing a little from home and staying in touch to answer emails and questions. But this morning I had a management meeting. I left the boy with his Grandma W for about 4 hours. I wasn't sure how I would feel about going back to work, but so far I've been in a few half days and it's been good. It's not bad leaving him, I get into 'work mode' once I hit the office, and then I'm happy to see the boy afterwards. I think some would expect a new mom to be weepy about leaving her baby...I'm not. And I've decided I will not apologize for that. Though, maybe when I'm not coming off of 6+ weeks of spending almost 24/7 with him it won't be so easy.

I never really intended to have Devin move the towel rack, and it seems like most of you agree. Maybe 'home perfectionist' should be added to my list of things I don't do. It's interesting to see how many votes the poll is getting. - gives me a bit of an idea of how many people regularly read my blog. And on that note, to all my readers...

STAY TUNED!

The next month is going to feature two really exciting posts! Both of them are giveaways! And both of them are really awesome (well, one is more awesome than the other, but they're both cool). Seriously...I can't wait! The most exciting one (with some stinking amazing giveaway items for a great cause) will hopefully debut next week! So, check back and tell your friends!

of course I'll be checking back in:).
Glad those back to work days aren't going to be to tough on you. I don't think they would have been tough on me either(had I had them). I am always thrilled when I get a vacation or some sort of getaway from my kiddos. Don't get me wrong, love them to pieces, but love spending time away too!!!

I look forward to your giveaways too!! And I think there are probably lots more readers than even vote on a poll, too!

I think I'll get a Lands End swimsuit. Mine are rough:). And I guess you can get up easily at 4:45 am when you go to bed by 9:30 on most nights:)
