i was just telling someone today that i've become less disciplined since high school. examples: sophomore year i decided to lose weight for spring break in florida. so for an entire month before we left i ate exactly one serving size of special k cereal for both breakfast and lunch.
(yep, i packed less than a cup of puffed flakes with a banana for school everyday and bought a small skim milk in the lunch line.) i was so diligent and it certainly worked. by the time we left for florida my pants were hanging off of me (okay it was probably a little extreme, but that's another story).

another example: i NEVER snoozed in high school. i showered each morning at 6:30 a.m. giving me 1 hour and 20 minutes before i had to leave for school. the alarm went off and i immediately got up, shut it off, and started my day. i even did this throughout my freshman year of college. well somewhere along the way, i've lost this diligence. i've turned into a snoozer...but my most recent sleeping situation is beginning to present itself as a problem...
my bedroom has one small window that has some very heavy wood blinds that let little to no light in when they're pulled shut. so basically my room becomes a cave. so there's the first problem. the second problem is i have a down pillow, a down comforter, jersey sheets, and a down fluffy thing underneath me. so while i have the most comfortable bed ever, when my alarm goes off...whether 630 or 930...and it's dark and i'm buried deep in my mound of amazingness, trying to get up is a disaster. but sleeping has been beautiful.
(aka a beautiful disaster)

i am a witness!
amazing bed + darkness = getting up past noon.
hope your first week is going good!
...hopefully we connect and chat tomorrow...
I'm really tired and your description of your bed is seriously making me really happy. Time to revamp our bed with some comfort I guess...I'll take the bed in the pic, thanks!
My first thought was that the disaster would be a bird in that nest with droppings falling in your face! AGGH!
haha Linda, that is funny! That wouldn't be pleasant.
That sounds like an amazing room, Em!
By the way, I've been snoozing a lot more these days than I ever used to, too! Whats the deal? :)
Love you and miss you!
Oh good...you are back:).;I see you have been back for a bit, but Im just now checking in. Will check in often now!! Your bed sounds amazing and on dreary days like today Id like to sleep in a bed like you have. Oh and I must say....that snooze button....never ever hit it in my life until I got married and my dear hubby hits it daily!!! Now Im hitting it...YUCK!!
Glad to have you back:)
Em I so can relate! Although I think I've been like this all the time, and it sounds like you were the extremely disciplined one in high school. Maybe you should try leaving the shutters open? But that's a little creepy when it's dark outside and someone just walking around outside could see in your bedroom...
p.s.I slept in til 10:45 this morning :)
