sailing right on through

so, the first week of my junior year is under the old belt and school has begun. i love the first couple months of a new schoolyear. the weather is generally nice. campus is alive, people are glad (for the most part) to be back. and it's just a good atmosphere. plus there are great things about fall...like football, tons of weekend activites scheduled, and randomness that can only be done in nice weather (such as red rover, barefoot, on the road, in the rain).

the start of a school year is always so new, so fresh. new classes, new notebooks, and new walks to class (including trying to make it to smith from lambert in 10 minutes...riiight). the first couple weeks of class i tend to be generally positive about school, etc. come mid-october i'm sure i'll complain a time or two.

so...as i sit here and talk up the start of a new school year. i must admit i was rather moody all week. it could be attributed to many different things, but my main conclusion is this: i don't handle change as well as i think i do. i like change (or so i claim). i anticipate and even push for change. i look forward to it. but when it comes right down to it...i react poorly to change. good changes. bad changes. they are still changes and it appears i have not mastered the art of going with the flow unaffected. or is it uneffected? molly? i think a not e, i could be wrong.

speaking of molly. i went on a sunday afternoon walk today. it was gorgeous weather and reminded me of a similar day just a year ago that i was going on a sunday after-church walk. except this time...i was alone. molly, you were missed. instead, my ipod kept me company. ah, my ipod, a steady, consistent friend.

we had camp pyg friday night and saturday morning. my one time out of the year that i suck it up and sleep outside in a tent, tolerate gross bugs, and participate in other 'campy' events. i was not born for the outdoors. end of story. nonetheless, camp was a lot of fun. (see, i'm already having that good, positive officer attitude. (crispy may beg to differ:)

i hate to correct you...but campus wasn't totally alive last week.

you forgot about the murdered squirrel that you almost became close friends with...;)
