my dad

is amazing. i feel so blessed to have been able to spend a few days with him up at our lakehouse in michigan. we had a ton of quality time together including (but not limited to)
-fishing, even though we didn't catch a lot when i was with him...of course the time he went out fishing alone he hauled bass in left and right
-running/walking together around part of the lake
-planting flowers by the little pond in our yard
-coffee in town at the village grounds early sunday morning
-taking his boat in and out of the water, good thing one of his daughters is skilled enough to back up a boat trailer and a huge diesel truck into the lake and a driveway (okay, i was pretty proud of myself & i'm sure one of my other sisters could do it if they tried...well, probably not:)
-our drive home together with good talks and panera and dairy queen, doesn't get much better than that!
i'm so thankful for time spent with my dad. the benefits of being the youngest and only single child left in our family. we missed mom (she was in IL with her sisters) and wished she could have been with us, but i was so glad for the one-on-one time with dad. seriously, how often will i have a chance for a weekend like this again? i was also really happy to be up at the lake, man i love that place, definitely the best investment that our family has ever made (in my opinion). here are a couple reasons i love it up there so much...

How fun!! My only question is.... did he wear his camo waders while you were fishing? ;)

I am excited to see you this weekend! WAHOOO!

christen, i'm sorry to report he did not wear the camo 'suit'. i guess that is only for wading in the lake in cold temperatures. i did however see it in the garage and laugh pretty hard. :)
