friday night was b's personal shower. we went with a 20's theme because it's an era betsy has always liked, or should i say idealized in her mind. of course, who wouldn't want to imagine living in a picture perfect world of a flapper. i mean, have you ever read or seen the great gatsby? if you haven't, i highly recommend it. it's definitely my favorite book/movie combo! not sure why i don't own either of them... anyways, it was a fun night of food, conversation, dancing, and of course, some of victoria's secrets. thanks for hosting laura, you're the best!

sunday night, after all the weekend pre-wedding festivities and good family time with nate&sara being back home for the first time since kenya, an unfortunate series of sicknesses hit. it started with ryan, then me, then betsy, and the list continues... luckily it was a 24 hour thing that i think we've all pretty much recovered from. luckily, i hadn't left to head back to purdue yet, so i got to be in the comfort of my home and be taken care of by mom (who was fortunate not to get sick). it was short-lived, but let me tell you, it was bad. i'll spare you the details, they're not pretty. i'll leave you with one more thought before i scurry off to stat with andrew... have you every measured out your cereal? well, i was going for my morning kashi go lean crunch and decided to measure out the one cup serving size. i usually pour what i think is a cup...let's just say i must have been pouring out what i wanted to be a cup. :)

So glad it was short-lived for you Em...just got an email from Lisa that said she is feeling better too so thank goodness it didn't last long. Horrible!! I'm feeling normal today too. I had a dream last night that I opened my web browser (cnn) and it said 30 people had died from contaminated drinking water in Indiana from the Monon ditch...so I was happy in my dream none of us died. wow..the malaria meds are really messing with my mental state. What a fun weekend it was with all of you! love ya!
