This morning during my quiet time I was re-reading week 2 of Beth Moore's 'Breaking Free'. Molly, mom, and I did this bible study this past summer and it was very instrumental in my surrendering my whole life to God. Anyways a lot of the study is based on verses in Isaiah that talk about the 5 benefits of serving Christ...I think they are so profound. I love that believing in Christ is only the first part of the whole thing. Anyways, I didn't want to become a sermon blogger but this is what's been on my mind today...

1. Know & Believe Him - Isaiah 43:10
2. Glorify God - Isaiah 43:7
3. Find Satisfaction in God - Isaiah 55:2
4. Experience God's Peace - Isaiah 48:18
5. Enjoy God's Presence - Isaiah 43:2-3

FYI...I didn't fail that exam, I did pretty well on it..well, good enough to pull of an A in the class. So maybe I'm not the rebellious, less smart one of the Gutwein girls (just the rebellious one). :)

Congrats on membership to the club of A-students in Oceanography! Did the exam include a few questions at the end about worldview, evolution, etc that were not part of the test but just the prof's curiosity about the class' beliefs? I remember that from when I took it. Thanks for the Breaking Free reminder...that is really a great study. love sara

i remember my dear wise roommate jodi telling me my freshman year when i was freaking out about my grades...."leah, don't worry...you'll get your grades, and it will be like Christmas"

looks like you just got your first Christmas present! :) good job!
